The SPS and Thermo Fisher Scientific teams recently joined the 15th-anniversary celebrations of the DSTI-NRF Centre for High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (CHRTEM) at Nelson Mandela University. Both companies were proud to sponsor the workshop and symposium.

The event brought together researchers, industry partners, institutional and government leaders, and representatives of South Africa’s national research infrastructure community to celebrate 15 years of advances in aberration-corrected electron microscopy and explore the future of advanced microscopy and materials research.
Established in 2011, CHRTEM has become an important part of South Africa’s research infrastructure, supporting scientific research and technological development.

We are pleased that the Thermo Fisher Scientific system at Nelson Mandela University contributes to this work and supports the advancement of electron microscopy in South Africa.
We look forward to continuing to support scientific research and the next chapter of advanced microscopy in Africa.
